School Council

School Council

Being part of the school council is a great responsibility and something children of St Michael's are extremely proud of.

In order for the children to become a member of the School Council, applicants must perform a campaign speech in front of their peers. Their peers then cast a vote and the results are presented during a whole school assembly. Each elected child is awarded a school council badge.

The school council are required to meet at least twice a half term where they discuss ideas that will benefit the school as well as our community. Duties of the School Council may include:

  • Weekly clean up around the school
  • Working with the Eco Club to promote recycling
  • Choosing the school charities
  • Healthy eating campaigns
  • Visiting the elderly
  • Advertising for the school
  • Interviewing staff members
  • Hallway monitoring
  • Meeting with the Bracknell Mayor
  • Helping perform internet safety activities during internet safety week
  • Giving feedback and ideas on school improvement to the Headteacher
